Seeing Claire Dowling announced as the first female Captain of @TheRandAgolf feels like a genuinely important step forward for the game, especially for women and girls looking for visible role models within golf.
As a signatory of the R&A #WomenInGolf Charter, this is something that resonates strongly with us at St Andrews for Golf. Through recent conversations, focus groups and listening to women’s experiences within the game, we’ve seen first-hand how important visibility, encouragement and representation really are.
It also links closely with our SAFG commitment to supporting and championing female role models in golf, and helping create experiences where more women feel welcomed, included and encouraged to take part.
We’re excited to continue playing our part in helping make golf more accessible and enjoyable for women, both here in St Andrews and through the experiences we develop moving forward.

Since 1977, this group of 8 friends has shared more than just a love of golf, they’ve shared a lifetime of memories. From their high school days in Wisconsin 🇺🇸 to teeing it up together to finally standing on the legendary Old Course at St Andrews, this trip to Scotland was nothing short of a dream come true.
Walking those historic fairways, reliving old stories, and creating new ones, all while being looked after with truly exceptional 5⭐ hospitality, made this experience unforgettable. A celebration of friendship, tradition, and one of the games that brought them together nearly five decades ago.

Day 2 at the Jubilee Course delivered absolute perfection, wall-to-wall sunshine, not a breath of wind, and pure links golf at its finest. Spirits high, swings (mostly) behaving, and memories already stacking up.
