Well. This was part of a trip of a lifetime for 4 guys, ages 60-71, handicaps, I don't know...18-30? We got a 3 course package - Castle Course, Eden, and Jubilee, for about 500 gbp per person. It included a 25 pound voucher for food. 10% off at pro/gift shop per day (if you buy and keep your receipt). OK. Well organized. Every one was very pleasant. The negatives first: First, we were mildly chastised for being slow on one course, but the people behind us were a twosome with caddies. We were 4 golfers walking. that's just not right. You have 2 golfers with local knowledgeable caddies helping them find their lost balls, moving things along. They should NOT be put behind walking players; certainly not 2 behind 4. OK. That's that. Second, the Castle course is not a golf course. It is a sadistic nightmare designed to humiliate and despoil golfers. it is positively ridiculous. The greens are not greens, they are geological faults covered with grass. It was not unusual to have 2-3 levels and undulations per green. Hitting the pin and getting the ball to stick ANYWHERE nearby was like trying to toss a cue ball onto a dunce cap. I had several shots that were dead on the pin, and they subsequently rolled away, down a level and into gulleys that drained balls from the green. Idiotic. Good fairway shots would hit a mound and bounce right or left into traps or the rough. It was scenic, sure, but so is the view from the top of Lubyanka prison no doubt. If the weather is windy (we had gusts up to 45 mph) do not expect to enjoy it. I didn't. In fact, I enjoyed the experience but hated the golf and the course. If it was representative of the entire St. Andrews experience I'd say don't waste your time and I would've detested it. OK, enough of that. Then, better weather and onto the Eden and Jubilee courses. Totally worth it. challenging, beautiful courses that rewarded good placement and shot making. Here i shot low/mid 40's per 9 for 27 holes. Rumors have it that the Jubilee is the toughest course of the 7 that comprise St. Andrews Links. Nah. No way. Castle course is. You couldn't shoot par on the Castle Course with a compound bow and arrow... On both the Castle and the Eden course rangers told us to move along, partially because we were a little slow, but they were polite and helpful (one stayed around for 2 holes to help us with club selection and finding our shots). Starters, reception, were polite and helpful. Prices both for greens fees and merch were reasonable. Overall, I would say this was completely worth it, but realize several things: 1-This is Scotland and you could make reservations for the trip of a lifetime but weather could prevent you from playing. 2-The Castle course is a not a round of golf; it is a psychotic experience.

Karen and I have been hosted by Alastair and Sharon for over 15 years and have become personal friends with them as they have build this amazing business of theirs.  They listen to you and your group to understand exactly what you expect your experience to be and then deliver an itinerary that exceeds our expectations every time. Unforgettable Scotland
My sister and I have just returned from what will remain one of the most memorable journeys travelling to Scotland.
St Andrews for Golf organised an extraordinary and truly bespoke experience, securing my guaranteed tee time at the Old Course and creating a tailor-made itinerary that perfectly combined golf, history, culture and sightseeing for both of us.
Having travelled extensively around the world and experienced many private, tailor-made journeys, I can honestly say that this experience exceeded anything we have encountered before.
The care, professionalism and seamless organisation provided by Sharon and Alistair were exceptional. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged – from tee times at the magnificent golf courses, transfers, restaurant reservations and sightseeing recommendations, to ensuring that every day unfolded effortlessly.
What made this journey truly special, however, was Sharon herself. Her warmth, dedication and personal attention transformed an excellent trip into an unforgettable one. She accompanied us throughout much of our stay, was there at every tee-off and welcomed us at the 18th hole, cheering us on and capturing precious memories that we will treasure forever.
I recently came across the thought that true luxury today is not excess, nor even design, food or service. It is the feeling that somebody genuinely cares about the experience you are having and the immediate sense that you are in good hands. Sharon and Alistair embody exactly that.
My sister and I shared a truly unforgettable journey through Scotland and cannot recommend St Andrews for Golf highly enough. We leave with wonderful memories, immense gratitude and a strong desire to return.

Bucket List
Too bad I cannot select a 7 star rating or I would do so. Traveled extensively and never experienced anything like this trip. Golf, accommodations, transfers etc were fantastic. Seamless travel experience. All I had to do was show up. All the personal touches were unexpected and very appreciated. Playing with the pro was a really fun experience.  Did this trip solo but never felt alone.  Alistair and Sharon were warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Brian for his part in making this an amazing trip. St Andrews- Old Course
I'm not someone who writes many reviews, but after a week of golf in St Andrews, it's hard not to.

Alistair and Sharon organised everything, and the standard of service and hospitality was incredible — nothing was too much trouble. They were there when you started and there when you finished. Quite simply the best experience we've ever had. I've already passed Alistair's details on to a friend in Spain.

First class from start to finish. Well done to the whole team.
